Q:  What is a “static” website and what is a “dynamic” site?
Answer:  A static website is considered as a simple form of a website. It is written in HTML, with usage of CSS and Javascript to a minor extent. The webpage’s of the site are single documents and do not have a database linkage to store information or retrieve information from. A static website has functionalities in such a way that editing or modifying anything would involve editing the HTML script of each page separately. The website owner has to edit it using tools or hire us to do the changes. The changes have to be done carefully as errors may even change the design and look of the website.

A dynamic website is considered as a more complex website, but it has a good amount of technical advantages. It is written using languages like PHP which are associated with server handling and uses a database like MySQL. These websites provide the user with the option of logging in and modifying contents on their own. The database maintenance and scrutiny becomes easy with a dynamic website. On the cost front, dynamic websites cost more to be developed, but reduce the maintenance cost to a large extent. The cost for development happens due to the use of crucial coding and content management systems. A dynamic website without the CMS relatively costs less and offers other advantages. The risk of causing damage to the design or look of the website at the time of modification is very low.
